ABOUT PROJECT
"The location required a complementary response to the heritage and grandeur of the street."
Ground floor activation is a crucial element to the project, where the retail frontage has greater hierarchy with the office entry designed to sit more discreetly within the street interface. Exploring design opportunities lead to a refined architectural expression that combines strong vertical emphasis, masonry framing and an exploration of tactile materials.
Careful selection of natural materials alongside specialist lighting contributes to a feeling of grandeur articulated through a restrained design approach.
DESIGN APPROACH
Considering the opportunities to capitalise on city outlook and amenity, the design utilises a combination of uninterrupted glazing and lush landscaped terraces that follows the daylighting and provides shading where required.
